Four years trapped in a nightmare that seems to have no end, thousands of clients of the Banca Privada d’Andorra (BPA) continue to be scorned and humiliated by the bankers and the Andorran government, unable to touch their funds, which were already demonstrated being legitimate. While investigations into alleged money laundering practices, which prompted the government presided by Antoni Martí to intervene the bank on March 10, 2015, are bogged down at their convenience.

Both the Andorran executive and the bank of the Pyrenean country continue to deceive public opinion by ensuring that deposits have been returned through Vall Banc, the entity that the JC Flowers vulture fund bought. A version that has been denied by the same affected clients, which still cannot recover their savings and the wait is getting too long.

According to Andorran financial sources, the value of frozen assets is almost 500 million and could be worth 700 million today, which has ended up being a shameful advantage for the new owner of Vall Banc, the JC Flowers fund. For its part, the State Agency for Banking Institutions (AREB), headed by Albert Hinojosa Besolí, which has also benefited from the blocked funds, justifies this plot, by ensuring that it is still awaiting a decision by the Swiss Justice to claim that money.

It is said that there are another billion euros that are still blocked in the old BPA and that have not been able to pass the migration to Vall Banc. And although most of the clients who claim their funds, have already regularized their situation, it has not helped them at all.

It is known that the vulture fund has only paid the AERB 3.8 million for the Andorran bank, that is, the financial crisis profitably benefited the new owner of Vall Banc, but infamously buried the assets of thousands of clients and investors who are now regretful of having entrusted their values to the already evicted Andorran banking.

In the Principality, they try in vain to show that the BPA crisis is already overcome, but the truth is that there is no will to resolve it by the government of Antoni Martí, who from the beginning was subjected to the American power to national shame.

And once again it has failed to meet the deadlines initially set to resolve this conflict that had to have occurred at the end of last January. EnricAnglada, who replaced JosepMaríaPijuan, will be the new magistrate who will preside over the Court of Corts that will judge the macro cause of the BPA case and for which a long trial is foreseen. Both the Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Andorran government will have to deploy their full range of evidence on the alleged criminal offenses that would have been committed by the directors and employees of the defunct bank.

On their part, the defense lawyers have already stated that BPA’s performance was not different from that of the rest of the banking entities of the Principality – a bank that was supervised and supervised at all times by the country’s financial and banking controlling body, the INAF, headed by Ramón Lopez.

A cuatro años atrapados en una pesadilla que parece no tener fin, miles de clientes de la Banca Privada d’Andorra (BPA) siguen siendo desdeñados y humillados por los banqueros y el gobierno andorrano, sin poder tocar sus fondos, que ya fue demostrado una y otra vez, son legítimos; mientras las investigaciones sobre supuestas prácticas de blanqueo de capitales, que impulsaron al gobierno que preside Antoni Martí a intervenir el banco el 10 de marzo de 2015, se encuentran empantanadas a conveniencia.

Tanto el ejecutivo andorrano como la banca del país pirenaico siguen engañando a la opinión pública al asegurar que se han devuelto los depósitos a través de Vall Banc, la entidad que compró el fondo buitre JC Flowers, versión que han desmentido los mismos clientes afectados, que siguen sin poder recuperar sus ahorros y cuya espera se está haciendo demasiada larga.

De acuerdo a fuentes financieras andorranas, el valor de los activos congelados es de casi 500 millones y podría valer los 700 millones al día de hoy, lo que ha terminado siendo una vergonzosa ventaja para el nuevo propietario de Vall Banc, el fondo JC Flowers. Por su parte la Agencia Estatal de Resolución Bancaria (AREB), encabezada por Albert Hinojosa Besolí, que también se ha beneficiado con los fondos bloqueados, justifica este complot, al asegurar que sigue a la espera de una resolución de la Justicia suiza para reclamar ese dinero.

Se dice que hay otros mil millones de euros que todavía siguen bloqueados en la antigua BPA y que no han podido migrar a Vall Banc. Y aunque la mayor parte de los clientes que reclaman sus fondos ya han regularizado su situación, no les ha servido de nada.

Se sabe que el fondo buitre solo ha pagado a la AREB 3,8 millones por el banco andorrano, es decir, la crisis financiera benefició lucrativamente al nuevo propietario de Vall Banc, pero sepultó infamemente el patrimonio de miles de clientes e inversionistas que hoy están arrepentidos de haber confiado sus valores a la ya desahuciada banca andorrana.

En el Principado se esfuerzan vanamente por hacer ver que la crisis de BPA ya se encuentra superada, pero lo cierto es que no hay voluntad para darle solución por parte del gobierno de Antoni Martí, que desde el principio fue sometido por el poder estadounidense para vergüenza nacional.

Y una vez más se ha vuelto a incumplir los plazos previstos de manera inicial para resolver este conflicto que tenía que haberse producido a finales de enero pasado. EnricAnglada, quien sustituyó en el cargo a Josep María Pijuan, será el nuevo magistrado que presidirá el Tribunal de Corts que juzgará la macro causa del caso BPA y por el cual se prevé un juicio largo. Tanto la Fiscalía como el gobierno andorrano, habrán de desplegar todo su abanico probatorio, sobre los supuestos ilícitos criminales que habrían cometido los directivos y empleados del extinto banco.

Por su parte los abogados defensores ya han expuesto que la actuación de BPA no fue diferente a la del resto de entidades bancarias del Principado, un banco que estuvo tutelado y supervisado en todo momento por el órgano de control financiero y bancario del país, el INAF, encabezado por Ramón Lopez.
